Description

topoguide presents 178 topos with over 200 routes in the most beautiful regions of the Alps on 560 full-color pages. The pleasure and plaisir tours are described in just as much detail as the thousand-meter-long extreme classics. Without exception (!), all routes have been climbed by the authors themselves, lovingly prepared and described in detail according to modern standards.

The focus is on the VI and VII grade difficulty range, reasonable protection and excellent rock quality. For each region there are detailed overview maps, tips on accommodation, equipment and tour planning. The approaches and descents, the start, as well as the requirements and protection are described in detail for each route. However, the wealth of information is of course no substitute for the necessary alpine experience and realistic self-assessment!

The "Climbing Guide to the Alps" covers the entire spectrum of alpine rock climbing and invites everyone to look beyond the boundaries of their own favorite category - and their previously preferred areas. The authors also want to raise awareness of different climbing ethics. With this in mind, they have conducted several interviews with climbing personalities, whose opinions are intended to stimulate reflection.

The whole thing is rounded off with plenty of background information on the great classics of alpine history and some anecdotes from climbing life.

The climbing areas:

Bergell

Chamonix, Grandes Courses

Chamonix, Argentière region

Chamonix, Envers des Aiguilles region

Chamonix, Aiguilles de Chamonix region

Chamonix, Aiguille du Midi / Pte.
